Drive Through the Countryside

I was surprised by my hubby and kids on Mother's Day with a new camera!  I've been enjoying trying to figure it out (without an extensive reading of the manual - I have read parts of it now, just not all of it...hey, at least I'm trying...sorta).

Fairly soon after I got the camera, we put the kids to bed and then I took a drive around our small, country-ish town (you know, the kind of town that is "countrified" to the city-folk, but "fake country" to the "Boondocks" country-folk).

I was taking pictures from inside my car (yes, I am quite the photographer - ha!).

I saw some beautiful old barns...

and a peaceful cemetery.  So much beloved history carved on these stones.

And I drove by my all-time favorite barn.  Isn't it great?!  The weathered red, the colored stones...there's not much that beats an antique barn in such wonderful shape.  Maybe it'll go for sale sometime soon.  I'd totally live there (not in the barn, of course)...but NO chickens.  (I'm not so good at raising chickens.)

This is the stunning house that comes with the barn.  Yup.  I'm a fan.

Rows and rows and rows of food.  Lovely.

It was fun to get out for about an hour to "practice" on such super scenery.

Ahh...
I'm so fond of this town.
I think I'll stay.
