Friendship Fun Tea Party

Emilia checked out Samantha's Friendship Fun from the library and it was all down hill from there...(Kidding!  We had fun!)

Addressing the invitations.

Decorating and getting ready for the tea party.

She invited three families who have homeschooled girls her age and younger.
The party was held from 2-4 pm on Thursday.

They (mostly) look so calm in these two pictures...don't let that fool you!

The girls ate fruit, cakes (decorated by them) and peppermint tea with plenty of cream and sugar.

I read portions of the Samantha book to the girls, telling them what life for Samantha was like in 1904.  We discussed proper etiquette while having a tea party - NOT that the girls always followed that proper etiquette, but we did discuss it.  ;)

After tea, the girls made "Calling Cards" out of pretty scrap-booking paper.

The party ended by playing a group game that the boys just HAD to be involved in.  :)

The girls had a great time sharing lots of laughs and "friendship fun"!

Afterwards, I said that Emilia's next friend party could be when she's 16.
(But...I've said that before.)

Love this! Was this for her birthday or just a fun girl's party? What a fun momma!

@Jamie of The Unlikely Homeschool It was a Just For Fun party. :) For some reason it doesn't feel as overwhelming if it's not a birthday party!

@laughwithusblog I agree. Less pressure than a birthday party for some reason. :) Thanks for the comment and for stopping by!

what beautiful memories. My oldest daughter (now 11) had several of these types of teas - we even did an American Girl tea once at a historic Bed and Breakfast. It was such fun! Enjoy these precious moments -- one day she will tell you it's ok to put her dolls away in the closet. :-(

Popping over to visit you from Heart of the Matter!

@Mary Prather
Aww...It will be a sad day when Emilia wants to put her dolls away, but I guess that's part of growing up...
Thanks for stopping by! :)

This is just so fun! My husband and I are (hopefully soon!) getting ready to start our family and your posts are just a breath of fresh air for me!

We haven't decided whether we'll homeschool our kids or send them to Christian school (which may end up depending on the quality of the Christian schools in the area...we'll see). But I really want to do homeschool! You make it look like so much fun!

Friendship Fun Tea Party photos have been saying a lot about this party. All of the arrangements look pretty and that’s why I also want to use many of these ideas for my daughter’s upcoming birthday. Only difference would be the location as she wants the bash to be held at some garden inspired LA venues.
