We went to Holland, MI for our camping trip.
We had no idea that it was "Senior Beach Week"
And I'm not talking about the "65 and older crowd".
18 year olds were everywhere.
I didn't think there were any adults in the whole campground.
I only saw teenagers. Lots of them.
After pulling into our campsite and seeing a sign right behind our trailer that said,
"PARTY'S HERE!"
We decided it would be best if we found another site.
They graciously accommodated our request, and we moved to a site closer to the other type of seniors. ;)
While we enjoyed our quieter site, we were able to observe the behaviors of this strange species called "Seniors".
They were swarming. They were smoking. They walked in herds back and forth.
The kids kept pointing and saying things like,
"Look! There's another high schooler!"
and
"Wow! There are lots of them!"
and
"Why are they so active at night?"
and
"So, do all high school boys pick a high school girl, hold hands, and take a walk? Is that what they do?"
We were at "Senior Zoo."
It became a hilarious joke.
We had a fabulous time together as a family.
It was definitely a trip to remember. Probably one that we'll bring up for years to come, especially when our own kids become...

oh, you are just too cute! I love preggo pictures! And your 'senior zoo' sounds like quite the educational experience... We had a run-in with college kids at my sister-in-laws beach wedding too. It was... interesting.
Ha! Sounds interesting and fascinating! How much longer till the babe arrives? It's soon right?!
Hilarious! That would have driven my husband nuts. Glad you were able to turn it into something fun/funny for your family. :)
@The Mrs.
I'm due July 17, but I've always gone late in the past - up to 11 days late.
@Heather
Thank you. :)

Yes, I'm also glad it ended up being funny because we weren't thinking it was funny at the beginning! :)
How fun!! You're looking great!!!
You look lovely!!!
What a beautiful looking campground! Is that your RV - it looks so spacious and bright compared to our Mothership, lol.
Too funny about the senior zoo:)
Lovely pics! It looks like you are having much better weather than us. (Although the past two days have been nice, finally.) Too funny about the "seniors." I'm sure it was rather eye-opening for your kiddos, though.
BTW...I wanted to let you know that I have decided to order Teaching Textbooks Math 7 for my daughter. (She'd be in Math 5 for the A Beka track.) I think I remember you mentioning that your daughter uses Horizons which is similar to A Beka...but maybe even more advanced in some areas than A Beka. Just thought I'd pass this on for what it's worth. I'd DEFINITELY recommend taking the placement test if you're still considering TT.

Thanks for letting me know, Jamie! I have decided that we'll stick with HOrizons for now. I'm happy with what she's learning. Maybe I'll regret my decision once this new baby comes, but hopefully not. :)
